Felixstowe is one of the few coastal locations in the East Anglian region that is still sailed on a regular basis (during the summer months at least). If there is decent wind, there will usually be someone there after work or during the weekend, but rarely during the day. 5 sailors is a lot here though! Most people sail from The Dip, but this is a popular alternative.

Felixstowe is located on the East Coast of Suffolk, approximately 9 miles SE of Ipswich. Approach on the A14, and at the first roundabout go straight ahead for the Fludyers launch site, and follow to the sea.
The Fludyers is shown by the North-most arrow on the map, and the easiest place to park is usually next to the toilet block (there's clean water available here to wash kit with, which is handy). Rig up on the beach in front. You can also park up and sail from further SW, shown by the middle arrow, or on the other side of the pier (South-most arrow).
Be careful at low tide as there are some nasty rocks exposed that will kill either your fin or your feet!
If the wind or conditions aren't good here then it's just a short drive to several other Felixstowe spots (The Dip, Manor Car Park, or the spots shown by the arrows above).
